Primary Teaching Assistant - Newcastle

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant with the drive to make a real change on the lives of young people? Are you looking for an exciting new role within primary education? Teaching Personnel are actively seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant who specialises in KS2 education on behalf of one of our schools in the west end of Newcastle. The Ofsted rate 'Good' school is held in high regard within the local community.

The role, commencing in September, will involve classes between years 3 - 6, it is integral that the ideal candidate have significant experience within this key stage. The main focus will be to work with pupils within an intervention group basis, however there will also be some general assisting of the whole class.

Role:

• Guaranteed, consistent work
• Running intervention groups with KS2 pupils who have fallen behind academically
• Assist with the development of children both academically and emotionally
• Provide the children with a positive role model whom they can look up to
• Communicate with the class teachers to create strategies to target any pupils struggling in particular.
• Help plan fun, engaging activities based around the needs of specific pupils

Candidate Requirements:

Due to the nature of the school, the successful candidate will most definitely have experience in the classroom with or KS2. Experience working as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant is desired. Alongside this, the candidate should:

• Highly motivated to help every pupil achieve their full potential
• Willing to develop unique strategies for individual pupils
• Passionate about the care and development of every child
• Have some knowledge of common issues hindering pupil performance e.g. SEN
• Sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
