Job description

Supply Teacher – Gainsborough, Retford & Surrounding Areas

Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £120 – £140 per day
Hours: Flexible, 1–5 days per week

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Supply Teachers to support Primary Schools across Gainsborough, Retford, and the surrounding areas. This flexible role is ideal for educators who want to make a difference in the classroom while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.


About the Role

As our network of partner schools grows, we are looking for dedicated Primary specialists to provide short-term supply cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Whether you're available one day a week or full-time, we welcome your application!

  • Most bookings are arranged in advance, though there may be same-day morning calls between 7:00–9:00 AM.

  • You’ll be expected to follow each school's policies, deliver set work, manage the classroom effectively, and leave clear handover notes for the class teacher.


Key Responsibilities

  • Qualified Teacher: Hold QTS and have experience across at least two primary key stages (EYFS, KS1, or KS2).

  • Flexibility: Available 1–5 days per week, willing to travel up to 30 minutes to local schools.

  • Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Confident in delivering the primary curriculum effectively and engagingly.

  • Organisation: Be reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching.

  • Adaptability: Able to adjust quickly to new schools and follow their individual routines and expectations.

  • Safeguarding: Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

  • DBS Check: Hold a current DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
