Flexible Apprenticeship FAQs

Everything you need to know about the Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency Model

Fees start from £1452 (plus VAT) per month.

Inspire ATA offers a free recruitment service, and host fee payments start once the apprentice begins work.

Inspire ATA is an official Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency and offers short-term apprenticeship placements and multiple work placements throughout the apprenticeship training journey. Their commitment to the apprentices is at least 16 months, so the apprentice has enough time to complete their practical training and end-point assessment (EPA). Durations depend on the type of apprenticeship training programme.

You should contact Inspire ATA right away if you have an issue with your apprentice. They work closely with the apprentice and manager to set clear goals and objectives to get your apprentice back on track. If this intervention does not work, you hand your apprentice back to Inspire ATA, and they will offer you a replacement.

If there is no way forward, Inspire ATA will replace the apprentice for you.

You have the option to employ the apprentice directly (no fee charged), sign a new contract with Inspire ATA (we would need to discuss a new training programme to continue with the individual's career development), or you can stop (the fixed-term contract ends).

Inspire ATA's school contracts are set at 30 hours per week during term time and 30 hours per week during school holidays. All contracts are for 52 weeks per year. If you need your apprentice to work more hours, Inspire ATA will talk about your individual requirements.

Apprentices are entitled to 20 paid holiday days per year plus bank holidays. Holiday dates are pre-agreed with your apprentice upon commencement of their employment. All holiday dates will then be set for the 12 months ahead. For apprentices who work in schools, we try to ensure that holidays are taken during school holidays.

Inspire ATA assumes the employment liability and responsibility for the duration of the contract, including:

  • Apprentice salary payments (including holiday pay).
  • Payroll through PAYE.
  • Health and safety.
  • Safeguarding.
  • Performance management.
  • Dealing with grievance and disciplinary matters.

Support to both apprentice and client, offering impartial mediation when necessary.

Inspire ATA works closely with several training providers who offer excellent service and an extensive range of courses.

Inspire ATA's apprenticeship levy funds the training.

Yes, Inspire ATA can arrange a "transfer of levy", meaning the apprentice can be added to your digital apprenticeship service account.

As a host, you will be required to provide:

  • A full and thorough induction to the role and organisation.
  • A workplace supervisor or mentor to work with and manage the apprentice.
  • A range of work activities and learning experiences allow the apprentice to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to complete their apprenticeship.
  • On-the-job training and supervision.
  • Time for the apprentice to spend with their Tutor(s) for off-the-job training.
