Job description

Our Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a warm and inclusive school where children are at the heart of everything we do.

This role is only suitable if you have an Early Years qualification or if you have experience working with children between the ages of 0 and 5 years old. You also need to have a good understanding of play-based learning.

Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Padiham
Contract Type: Full-time - Term Time Only)
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: September 2025

Key Responsibilities:

-        Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years education

-        Work with small groups and individual children to support their learning and development

-        Assist with planning and preparing engaging, age-appropriate activities

-        Observe and record children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework

-        Help create a safe, positive, and inspiring learning environment

-        Provide care and support with personal, social, and emotional development

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

-        Have experience working in an EYFS setting (school or nursery)

-        Hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 childcare or teaching assistant qualification (or be working towards one)

-        Be warm, patient, and approachable with a genuine love for working with young children

-        Have a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early child development

-        Be a team player with good communication and organisational skills

-        Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
