PE Assistant

Are you looking for apposition that combines sport with education? Are you hoping to deliver and assist Physical education lessons to young people? Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary Alternative Provision in Bimringham who are hoping to employ a Physical education Teaching assistant ASAP. We are looking for sports coach’s and educators with experience in a PE department to assist this school as Teaching assistants until the end of the academic year. The school have stated that they will consider applicant with experience of running school sports clubs as well as experienced Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants. This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday (8.30-3.30) starting ASAP.

The provision is for KS3 and KS4 pupils who have been excluded from mainstream school. The provision supports the young people with their behaviour in an effort to reengage them in education. The young people do follow the national curriculum, but they also have focused sessions around more vocational pathways including PE and Sport.

The preferred Physical education Teaching assistant will ideally be looking to gain experience before commencing on a PGCE with the aim of starting a career as a PE Teacher. Your role will be combined to work as a behaviour mentor and academic tutor, with the opportunity to run after school and lunch sports clubs. You will have some recent experience working within a school setting and be able to work with children with challenging behaviour.

Ideal qualifications include:

* Degree in Physical Education or Sports Science

* Level 3 Diploma in Sports Development

* FA Level 2 in Coaching Football

* BTEC Nationals in Sport

* Equivalent Physical Education/ Sport Certificate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
