Primary School Teaching Assistant – Southampton
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Competitive Daily Rate from 13.75 per hour
Start Date: September 2025

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Southampton to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant for the new academic year.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in the classroom, supporting teachers and helping pupils reach their full potential. You will assist with lesson delivery, work with pupils in small groups or 1:1, and provide essential support to those with additional learning needs.
Responsibilities:

Supporting classroom learning under the direction of the class teacher
-
Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who need additional support
-
Supporting the development of pupils’ social and emotional skills
-
Preparing resources and helping with classroom organisation
-
Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
About You:

Previous experience working with children (in schools, childcare, or youth work) is beneficial
-
A caring, flexible, and proactive approach
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A genuine passion for working with primary-aged children
