On behalf of the Liverpool Archdiocese Teaching Personnel are looking for a Head of Maths for a Catholic School in the Liverpool area. This post is open to applicants with all levels of experiences including those looking to take the next step in their career or those looking continue on in middle management but transition to another school.
The Archdiocese’s aim to collaborate at all levels to support succession planning, workforce development and student activities through which they can add further value to the educational and spiritual experience of all the children in our schools
**Provide professional leadership to a large team of teachers and support staff in the delivery of the full range of mathematics teaching from key stage 3 to university entrance.
**Develop innovative, non-traditional approaches to the mathematics curriculum in order to ensure appropriate access and achievement for all students.
**Manage the resources of the mathematics department within the limits of the delegated budget and in accordance with the school’s financial procedures.
**Ensure that robust procedures are in place to monitor the quality of teaching and learning outcomes throughout the department.
**Contribute significantly to the school’s planning (both short and long term) and provide leadership to whole school developments, as required.
Applicants interested in this post will need to hold the following;
- UK QTS and a PGCE/Equivalent in secondary Maths
- A record of achieving excellent results across the ability range
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to provide consistently ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding practice
