Teaching Assistants – September Start
Location: New Forest Area | Full-Time | Paid to Scale (Based on Experience)
A specialist provision in the New Forest area is seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team from September.
The pupils supported have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Some children may display challenging behaviour, so successful candidates will need patience, adaptability, and strong behaviour management skills. Teaching Assistants will play a key role in providing consistent support, helping to create structured and nurturing environments where pupils can learn and thrive.
The school values Teaching Assistants who work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to meet the individual needs of each pupil. Candidates should be proactive, reflective, and committed to fostering inclusion and positive outcomes.
Desirable experience:
- Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Willingness to commit to full-time work and be a consistent presence for pupils
- Experience in specialist or alternative education settings
- Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches
- Confidence supporting transitions and social development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
