Job description

Science Tutor – Alternative Provision (Excluded/At-Risk Pupils)

TP Tutors is looking for experienced and adaptable Science Tutors to support pupils in alternative provisions who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion.

You’ll deliver personalised science sessions (KS3/KS4) to help re-engage learners, boost confidence, and support academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored tuition sessions

  • Travel to and from venues (e.g. PRUs, libraries, homes)

  • Manage your own diary with flexibility

  • Liaise with Tuition Consultants, case workers, and school staff

  • Upload detailed, high-quality session reports to our secure cloud-based platform

Requirements:

  • Substantial UK-based teaching or tutoring experience

  • QTS is preferred, but strong candidates with a relevant degree and proven experience will be considered

  • Must hold a DBS (Child Workforce only) on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

This is a highly rewarding role for tutors with a passion for inclusive, student-centred education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
