General Cover Teacher

Many of the secondary schools we work in the Stockport, Levenshulme, Chorlton and Trafford areas require general cover teachers to teach on a casual basis within their schools in advance of November and December as it gets busier with regards cover. During the final half term of the Autumn term and into January, the demand for general cover increases dramatically as a result of long term planned absences, short term sickness, internal courses for staff and school trips playing a part in cover.

The successful general cover teacher may have a specialism which will often be advantageous and be matched with, so if you are a Humanities teacher or Art teacher for example able to cover on a general basis, apply now. Typically, there isn't any planning or marking required with the general cover teacher role with a day usually consisting of arriving at school for 8:20 - 8:30am and finishing at 3pm having covered 5 lessons.
