Are you a Fully Qualified Teacher? Do you strive to help young people achieve their optimum potential in a Cover Supervisor capacity?

An opportunity has emerged at a middle school in Dorchester, whereby candidates from an educational background can work immediately within varying departments in the capacity of Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-planned lessons at KS3 and KS4 levels to students of varying age ranges.

Duties included of the role include: -

• Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy

• Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment;

• Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures;

• Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the schools policies and procedures;

• Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher

• Reporting back as appropriate using the schools agreed referral procedures on the behavior of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.

Ideal candidates will have experience of working within schools, with subject knowledge of all subjects preferable, though not necessarily essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
