Drama Graduate - Wigan

'Good' graded Secondary school in Wigan looking to appoint a Drama Graduate who is able to join the school in January 2019.

Our client Secondary school are looking to appoint a Drama Graduate in order to alleviate the work load of the main class teachers within the school and provide classroom support when a teacher is absent.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Drama Graduate who is looking to pursue a career within education to join a school on a full-time basis where they will gain experience within a secondary school setting, developing key skills and putting them into practice, all of which will be the perfect preparation prior to completing a teacher training course.

  • Drama Graduate required on a full-time basis from January 2019.
  • Temporary position with employment for the remainder of the academic year.
  • Opportunity to work within a supportive school that will support you throughout your placement.
  • Opportunity to earn between £1000 -£1200 a month.

The successful Drama Graduate will be employed from January 2019 on a temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year.

This role will incorporate working closely with the main class teachers across the full subject range, completing teaching assistant duties and providing general cover in the absence of the class teacher when required. Support will be provided from experienced members of staff throughout the year and the successful candidate will also allocated a mentor from the schools drama teaching faculty to ensure that regular progress is being made.

What does the role involve?

  • Supporting the learning of students who require additional guidance
  • Working closely with the teachers within the Drama department (Supporting them with the setup of each lesson, assisting with planning and ensuring that lessons operate smoothly)
  • Providing support to other departments within the school and providing cover when necessary

Our client Secondary school is slightly larger than the national average with approximately 900 pupils on roll. Located between Hindley and Westhoughton, the school is just a short drive away from the A577 and has an abundance of public transportation links to surrounding areas; Bolton, Salford and Wigan.
