Bank staff (Special Need schools) - Hillingdon

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Are you seeking work on a part-time basis in the Hillingdon area?

Are you experienced or eager to support young adults and children with special needs?

Make a real tangible difference to students with autism and learning difficulties!

I currently work closely with a number of special need schools in the Hillingdon area, including Uxbridge, Hayes and West Drayton. These schools regularly require support staff to work for them on a bank or ad-hoc basis to cover cases of planned absence, sickness, staff training and school trips.

The schools that I work with exclusively support children and young people diagnosed with autism, learning difficulties and speech disorders. The schools are purpose built with amazing facilities tailored to their needs such as interactive resources, sensory/soft play rooms and gardens.

Having experience working with and supporting special needs within school, care environments or nurseries is a bonus and would be ideal due to the needs of the pupils. However, this type of role is also suitable for pro-active graduates and those looking to gain experience in Special Needs education as a teaching assistant!

You may be asked to support children with feeding and toileting support or nappy changing as most children will be learning basic skills such as feeding and toilet training. You will work in small classes with up to 10 pupils with similar learning needs and work cooperatively with the class teacher and up to 3 experienced special needs teaching assistants.

Role:

  • Hours - 8:30am to 4:30pm for 3 days minimally between Monday to Friday
  • Location - Uxbridge, West Drayton and Hayes in Hillingdon
  • Responsibilities - 1:1 and small group educational, social and developmental support of students with special educational needs
  • Additional responsibilities - personal care/toilet training support and feeding

If you like the sound of this type of work and want to be part of an inspiring team send your CV to Rachel today to be considered!
