Job description

Teaching Assistant SEN for school in Barking and Dagenham

  • Support pupils on a one to one basis in an educational setting to raise attainment and manage behavior available.
  • Flexible roles including both part-time and full time positions available.
  • Do you have a background in sport, youth work or PRU work.

The school currently has a small number of pupils that require a strong role model to enable them to integrate into school life as well as developing personally and go forward to achieve academically. Therefore, Teaching Personnel are currently seeking support assistants with a background in behaviour support to work on a flexible, one-to-one basis to support pupils who can at times display challenging behaviour. Roles could also involve liaising with both other members of staff and parents, meaning a forward-thinking and calm approach to the role are imperative.

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a variety of leading, nationally recognised CPD providers, such as National Association of SEN, National Autistic Society, Rush Miskin, Team Teach, Educare, Creative Education, St Patrick’s RC High School and Leeds Trinity University. These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Accredited Team Teach, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Prevent Duty, Read Write Inc. and Child Protection in Education.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
