Higher Level Teaching Assistant/ Youth Worker 

About the School /Service

We are seeking to appoint a creative, highly motivated, and enthusiastic experienced Youth worker/ Behaviour Mentor, to work within a Inclusion service for various primary/secondary schools around Teesside inlcuding Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton.

The LEA's are looking for professionals with drive, energy and commitment, with an innovative approach to support young children who demonstrate behaviour of concern and work with them 1:1. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the different roles within the LEA, where you can commit to working full/Part time. You will be working around an educational framework based on the National Curriculum, implemented by the LEA in 1:1 or small groups with under achieving children.

The role

To assist Inclusion Service Leaders and Specialist Practitioners in providing appropriate support interventions to pupils with additional needs. This responsibility equally extends to those pupils who require individual learning programmes and includes transition of pupils to Key Stage 3 or specialist provision.

Essential Experience:

  • Ability to assist teaching staff in the planning and application of individual support programmes.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
  • Ability to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • A good understanding of Safeguarding practice within a school environment
  • Strategies which encourage parents and carers to support their children’s learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
