Job description

A full time position commencing as soon as possible for a Youth Worker. This position commences as soon as possible and runs throughout the year. If you have significant experience working with pupils with extreme challenging behaviour and are looking for a new challenge please apply.

This particular Setting is a Pupil Referral Unit which is located across 9 different sites in Manchester.The Setting provides education for pupils 11-16 who are being educated outside of Mainstream schools. Pupils who attend the Setting may be being educated out of Mainstream for a variety of reasons including: social, emotional and mental health needs and pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The main aim of the Setting is to support pupils and integrate them back into a Mainstream; however this is not always a possibility.

An ideal Youth Worker will have:

- A youth work qualifaction

- Experience working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour

- de-eslcation tactics

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
