Job description

Teaching Personnel urgently needs a permanent SEN teacher for immediate start in the Weston-Super-Mare and surrounding area.

Teacher Personnel is offering a role working with children who have challenging behaviour, autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs. Within this role you will be teaching small groups or working 1-to-1 closely with a students aged 11-18.

You will be working closely with a child on their own bespoke education programme within a nurturing environment in order to build a strong relationship and help the child develop social and emotional skills. The school is located on the outskirts of Weston-Super-Mare; it is a small school catering to ten students aged eleven to eighteen.

The key skills of an SEN teacher include:

  • A good knowledge of the curriculum
  • Ability to engage a class
  • Relevant SEN or teaching qualifications
