Job description

Teaching personnel are looking to recruit a Specialist SEMH teaching assistant to work with children who need additional support. These children are not currently in mainstream educaiton and need someone to work on a 1:1 or small group basis. The chosen candidate will need experience of working/supporting children with SEN in or out of education.

To be considered for this role you must energetic with a good sense of humour to keep the pupils engaged and interested in learning. You will have the ability to utilise a range of effective approaches to the management of difficult behaviour.

They pride themselves on their hands on approach to learning and use interactive technologies, excursions and creativity to keep their pupils engaged and focused on their learning. This is a rewarding, yet challenging position. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of children with Social Emotional and Mental Health either professionally or in the home environment and able to apply appropriate learning strategies to support them.

You must be able to drive with full access to your own car.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
