Residential Support Workers

Job description

We are currently looking for full and part-time Support Workers for an SEN Residential Setting in Cornwall.

The School is a 38-52 week school and home for children and young people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This school draws upon a proven programme of specialist education and 24 hour care with a wide range of clinical and therapeutic inputs.

The Role

The care managers work hard to offer a home away from home, accommodating children and young people in both on-site and off-site homes. Every child or young person has a keyworker overseeing their care, welfare, safety and learning programmes.

You will be expected to promote independence however some students do require full support with personal care, so you would need to be comfortable with this.

We currently have a need for full time, part time and flexible staff with various shift patterns available. You can pick whether you work days OR nights and will not be asked to work both.

What are we looking for?

What is most important to this residential setting is that they find someone who matches their values, so if you believe that everyone has a personal best and that everyone can achieve something special, then we would love to hear from you.

You do not need experience working with individuals that have Autism as full training will be provided however this would be beneficial.

Due to the varying needs and age of the students at this school, we are looking for applicants who have a flexible approach to work. Although rewarding, working with such vulnerable young people can be extremely challenging so we are looking for team players with a great sense of humour.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
