KS3 Teacher in North Hampshire

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with several SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Schools in the North Hampshire area that are currently looking for KS3 Teachers to start at Easter.

The schools have pupils ranging from 7 - 16 years old with varied needs but may include the following:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Anxiety difficulties
  • Behavioural difficulties

The schools we work with use a differentiated curriculum to help support the students through their specific needs, that have taken them out of mainstream schooling. Majority of our schools are rated good - excellent with OFSTED and have exceptional facilities. The schools encourage a very close pupil and teacher relationships, to help aide pupils through their education more efficiently whilst also encouraging morale and social support.


The Role:

Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday.

Full time ideal but job shares may work.

The salary will vary between £500 - £600 per week depending on the successful candidates experience.


The Candidate:

MUST have Qualified Teacher status.

Ideal candidates may need to be able to drive but it isn't essential, as we will likely have a school local to you.

Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:

  • Criminology
  • Psychology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Care worker
  • Sports coaching
  • Youth offending services
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Mentoring

Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils, so ideally needs a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.

A minimum of GCSE English and Maths (A-C) is a minimum requirement; with further education being beneficial. Additional qualifications which may be useful include: Team Teach or PECS. Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
