Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA) to join one of our expanding schools.

We have a number of schools in Hampshire who are now looking to develop their staff further but hiring HLTAs within the school. The expectation of a HLTA is as follows:

  • Provide support to children throughout the school day,
  • Work alongside the teacher the class to create an inspiring learning environment,
  • Provide a safe environment for children,
  • Cover PPA, course cover and NQT release time across year groups,
  • Be able to lead class rooms in the absence of the teacher.

The successful candidate must be a qualified HLTA with experience undertaking a similar role in either Key Stage 1 or 2. Your must also have prior knowledge of providing interventions for children throughout the school and planning literacy and numeracy booster sessions to be delivered by all Teaching Assistants throughout the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
