Job description

A school i am working with a SEMH School in the St Austell area who are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, empathetic and resilient Family Support Worker to join our team as soon as possible on a permanent basis.

The role of the Family Support Worker is to assist in tackling underachievement by working in partnership with families, parents, carers and children and young people in our school context. The focus of the role is to engage with children and their families within the school context to support positive choices and healthy relationships by developing groups and 1:1 support opportunities. The Family Support Worker will work with families in a non-judgemental way empowering them to access support services and educational opportunities, overcoming barriers to learning and participation, and impacting positively on outcomes for children.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of and commitment to:
be an effective team player
forge strong relationships with pupils, parents, agencies and the wider school community
play an active role in continued professional development
be able to promote our school ethos by being an outstanding role model and leading by example

This is a full time permanent post term time only for the right candidate. The pay is £80-£90 per day and the hours are 08:30-15:30 5 days a week. Experience with SEN/SEMH is desired.
