Cover Supervisor

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor/Supply Teacher who is genuinely motivated to positively impact young lives.

Teaching Personnel are working with an Ofsted “Outstanding” school in Poole who are seeking a Cover Supervisor. The school teaches young people from 11 to 19 and puts great emphasis on a healthy balance between academic work and the all-round development of children making it an excellent environment for students, parents and staff.

Although specialist knowledge in a particular subject is not necessary to be an effective Cover Supervisor, it will help. This role is perfect for graduates in all subject areas who are interested in working in education and keen to gain experience in the classroom to support a teacher training application, or to see if it is definitely the career path for you.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor include:

• Managing a classroom with pre-set work which is set by the main teacher.
• Liaising closely with teachers after each lesson to feedback on the day’s progress.
• Managing behaviour and helping students with their work.

Cover Supervisors work alongside qualified teachers covering classes for absent staff when necessary. The role is an excellent if you are a graduate looking to become a teacher in the future. Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will need to adapt to different classes and groups of children and will therefore need to demonstrate flexibility and excellent classroom management.
