If you have answered yes to the above then one our partner schools are looking for people like you. The large Secondary school is looking to give a Trainee Teaching Assistant the opportunity to gain invaluable skills and experiences to further a career in education.
You will be tasked to work efficiently and effectively in a Teaching Assistant position where you will support the classroom Teacher and other members of support staff to provide extra support such as literacy and numeracy groups, additional learning support on a one-to-one basis and also give support to those pupils that show signs of challenging behaviour. Subject specific experience is not necessary as you may be required to work throughout the curriculum with a mixture of subjects.
The Successful Candidate must :
- Have full time availability - 5 days per week (Monday to Friday, 8:20am to 3:20pm, term time)
- Be educated ideally to degree level with a minimum of GCSEs inc. Maths and English - A* to C grades. Graduates of any specialism are encouraged to apply. Graduates of Sports, Psychology, English & Youth work have excelled in this school previously, however this does not limit applications to those subject areas.
- You must take a keen interest in the support of young people and their progression both academically and socially.
The School
The Secondary school that we are working in partnership with for this upcoming vacancy outside of Newport. The school pride themselves on the quality of support they give their students and to ensure the high level provided the school give constant feedback to their support staff which allows them to improve and develop their skills in to a more all rounded Teaching Assistant. The senior leadership of the school are constantly looking for ways you can collaborate and use your skills, in the past our Teaching Assistants have worked with the schools sports teams, developed a school radio station, supported Maths and Science clubs and taken part in other various after school activities.
