Job Title: SEMH Tutor – Hillingdon
Location: Hillingdon (in-person tutoring)
Subjects: Maths and English (Primary and Secondary)
Pay Rate: £20–£30 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Part-time or full-time, flexible hours available

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Tutor to work with students in Hillingdon who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This role involves one-to-one tutoring for learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including anxiety, low confidence, and low self-esteem. You will be delivering personalised support in Maths and English, helping students re-engage with learning in a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored tutoring sessions in Maths and English

  • Work with students at both primary and secondary levels

  • Assess learning needs and create individualised schemes of work

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet emotional and educational needs

  • Support students in building confidence and developing independent learning skills

  • Monitor and report on progress

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs

  • Confident teaching Maths and English (up to GCSE level)

  • Ability to assess, plan and deliver differentiated lessons

  • Patient, empathetic, and consistent in approach

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
