Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Provision
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only (8:30-15:30)
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner depending on availability)
Pay: £89.38 PAYE contract

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in Chorley. The role involves supporting children and young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH and additional needs.

Assisting the class teacher in delivering a tailored curriculum.

Helping to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.

Building positive and trusting relationships with students to support their personal and academic development.

Promoting a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
-
A graduate in a relevant field (e.g. Mental Health, Sports Science, Psychology, Sociology).

Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (either paid or voluntary).

Confident, resilient and adaptable.
-
Passionate about supporting vulnerable students and promoting positive outcomes.

A team player with a professional and compassionate approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
