Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant – Lytham St Annes
£13.75 per hour |  Full-time, Term Time Only | September 2025 Start

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist independent provision in Lytham St Annes, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position offering rewarding work in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You’ll be working in small classrooms and often on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to pupils aged 8–18 who may have experienced challenges in mainstream settings.

You will assist with classroom activities, emotional regulation strategies, and support pupils in building confidence, resilience, and academic skills. Teamwork and consistency are vital, as is a calm, patient and empathetic approach.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in education, youth work, or similar pastoral roles is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
  • The ability to form positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a sense of humour.
