KS2 Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with an “Outstanding” school in Oldham (OL9) that are looking for an experienced KS2 teacher to teach their Year 6 class starting in September 2025 until July 2026 due to a staff maternity leave in the school.

- Long -term position for a full calendar year,
- 2025/2026 academic years
- Excellent pay from £130 - £200 a day, up to your 12th Week and then eligible for Main Pay Scale earnings.
Role
Working alongside the linked Year 6 teacher and the supportive Upper Key Stage 2 teaching team, you will be responsible for preparing, joint- planning, and delivering high quality lessons to accelerate the learning of the Year 6 pupils in the class taking into account those pupils who require additional support and those who require challenge. You will be expected to provide excellent feedback through marking, alongside setting targets moving forward. Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues will be essential to succeed in this role. There will be a transition period as you will be entering the school at a key point in the year as SATs are due to be sat later in the month, with the current class teacher providing a hand over experience. It is therefore advantageous for the applicants to have previous experience in Year 6 and especially have experienced of how the Year 6 SATs process works.
Teacher
The school are looking to appoint a teacher who holds Qualified Teacher Status, ideally with previous experience teaching in Year 6 with a strong understanding of the upper key stage 2 curriculum with possibly having the opportunity to lead a foundation subject in the past. The school follows schemes of learning for reading, writing, maths, and many foundation subjects so previous experience of following schemes such as Cornerstones, White Rose Maths and Reading Vipers would be desirable. The school welcomes applications from teachers who have held a previous KS2 teaching position as well as those you have experience through supply teaching or through a teaching placement.

The school is a large two-form entry school with roughly 300 children, located to the south of Oldham Centre. They have been graded as “Outstanding” by OFSTED for over 10 years with outstanding ratings for leadership, behaviour, and academic achievement. They put a strong emphasis on behaviour and being “ready to learn” implementing the traffic light system for behaviour management and the use of Class Dojo to reward exceptional behaviour.
