Science Teaching Opportunity

On behalf of our partner school which is based in Portsmouth, we are looking to recruit an ambitious and future leader to join their high achieving Science department. The school is inclusive to all those who apply to be taught there, making for a diverse rich culture within. 

The science department is a close knit and supportive team which consists of seven teachers. Science is taught in state of the art facilities and the school has very high expectations of their students. The science department utilises SMART boards, digital projectors, networked computers and a range of software with all ages and abilities in mind to ensure excellent educational standards are met and all inclusive provision is taught. The school would like to hear from candidate who can bring modern technology into the classroom environment and integrate this into their delivery to capture students attention. The department runs both combined and separate sciences and all teachers are expected to contribute to the teaching of these where necessary.

The school are dedicated to enhancing young people’s lives and aim to provide an excellent education through developing a love of learning beyond the school gate. They encourage their students through installing positive habits. 


Ideally you will be:

  • A graduate with QTS or a graduate of Science with a genuine desire to train to teach
  • An innovative and dedicated (or aspiring) classroom practitioner with a record in raising standards and driving progress or the ability to accomplish that over time
  • Able to inspire pupils to go beyond their expectations with a real passion for your subject or have had some experience tutoring as a graduate
  • A creative and inventive professional, committed to being a positive role model for children
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the school
  • Keen to play a key role in the interventions and support given to students who require help

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
