We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join this welcoming school community from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning within a nurturing and collaborative environment.
About the Role
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to plan, deliver, and support engaging lessons across a range of subjects. You’ll provide tailored one-to-one and small group interventions, helping to create an inclusive and inspiring classroom experience that enables every child to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support teachers in planning and delivering stimulating, well-structured lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils to enhance learning outcomes
• Deliver targeted interventions for children with additional learning needs
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development
• Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals
• Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress as required
What We’re Looking For:
• A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of child development and classroom practice
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
• A proactive, adaptable, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
