Teaching Personnel are working with a number of the secondary schools in the Stretford/Trafford area and are therefore looking for general supply teachers to register for day to day short term teaching work. Working closely with a large trust of schools as well as a number of others secondary schools in the Trafford and nearby Stretford, Chorlton, Wythenshawe and South Manchester areas brings with it an increased workload and requirement for day to day cover. As the term continues, the amount of day to day work grows significantly in demand as schools find themselves inundated with planned absences. Coupling the planned absences with unplanned, last minute sickness, schools require supply teachers to go into school and cover for these absences on a general day to day basis.
As a general supply teacher working through Teaching Personnel, you will benefit from regular day to day work in the areas of Altrincham, Sale. Stretford, Trafford and Chorlton to just name a few. School dependent in conjunction with the LEA, pay is competitive and planning and marking is not expected as part of the general supply teaching role in the main.
Highlights of the general supply teaching position:
- Opportunity to earn up to GBP600 per week depending on school, LEA and experience/specialism
- Teach in a variety of secondary schools in the wider Trafford and South Manchester areas
- Consistent teaching where schools often ask for the same teachers back providing continuity

As a general supply teacher, you will have full flexibility over being available on a full time or part time basis. This role is ideal for qualified teachers of any experience looking for flexible teaching work to suit your individual personal schedule. This role is also ideal for teachers looking for an introduction to a longer term, more permanent position as we find general supply teaching can lead to a medium term placement if applicable for the teacher.
Working with numerous secondary schools, we find that a lot of the general supply teaching work can come through on a day to day basis reactively receiving calls from schools first thing each morning. We also get a lot of proactive and pre-emptive calls where schools will book a general supply teacher in advance which can benefit those teachers looking to pre plan childcare and personal schedules.
