Job description

Do you want to have an inspirational and rewarding effect on the lives of vulnerable young people? Teaching Personnel SEN branch is recruiting an experienced teaching assistant or support worker in the Bedfordshire Area. The needs of the young people you would work with are varied, but include ASC, MLD/ PMLD/ SLD, physical disabilities and SEMH difficulties. You may be required to assistant with personal care. Potential candidates may have qualifications in British sign language (advanced level preferable) and be able to use PECS or Makaton to a functional level. The ability to work with young people in a care setting or alternative education provision is essential. Experience in moving and handling, first aid, personal care and Team Teach would be desirable. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
