Psychology Teaching Assistant

Job description

Psychology graduates - Salford

  • Primary SEN School - Salford
  • Long term and short term positions available
  • You will have access to CPD courses such as Team-Teach, Autism Awareness and Safeguarding

I am currently working with a few primary SEN schools in the Salford area who are looking for Psychology Graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants.

The schools provide education and care to children aged 2-11 years who have a range of special educational needs. All pupils attending the schools have statements of SEN indicating profound and complex needs, severe learning difficulties or autistic spectrum conditions. Many pupils have additional physical or medical needs.

The schools require individuals who are able to work on a supply basis and at short notice with a wide range of SEN. Some of the children in the school can be challenging, both emotionally and physically therefore a Team-Teach qualification is highly desirable. In addition some children require alternative communication methods such as PECS. Any additional training such as Moving and Handling, Autism Awareness and Safeguarding are also highly desired.
