Have you recently qualified with a degree in Mathematics (or similar) and are considering a career in secondary teaching? Do you have previous Mathematics tutoring experience, or wish to expand your experience delivering Mathematics to young people?

A large secondary school located towards the north of central Manchester are currently seeking to appoint a full-time Mathematics Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant within their Mathematics faculty from September 2019 (or sooner if possible) for twelve months.

This full-time temporary Mathematics Graduate Teaching Assistant will provide successful Graduates with the tools necessary to become an outstanding teacher of the future. As part of the full-time position, support will be provided to apply for teacher training programmes, and CPD training will be available through partner training providers.

The key responsibility of the successful Mathematics Graduate Teaching Assistant is to support and guide pupils across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four to reach their target grades within Mathematics.

The successful Mathematics Graduate Teaching Assistant will;

- Plan and deliver 1:1 and small group Mathematics tuition sessions.

- Work alongside the Mathematics department to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Support pupils within the classroom environment within Mathematics lessons.

- Cover Mathematics lessons in the absence of the class teacher with pre-set work.

- Earn up to £1200 per month *Experience dependent.

It is essential that the incoming Mathematics Graduate has experience working with children and young people or has previously provided tuition within Mathematics. The Mathematics department is currently made up of eight experienced teachers and two newly qualified teachers and has seen a slight improvement in attainment over the past academic year. The aim of the incorporation of a Mathematics Graduate Teaching Assistant is to further raise attainment and enjoyment within Mathematics.

Located in North Manchester, our client secondary school can be reached via the M60 motorway near to Failsworth. For non- drivers, public transportation links are available from Rochdale, Oldham and central Manchester.
