History teacher required

A full time position teaching History to key stage 3 and 4 has recently become available at one of the most successful high schools in Luton. The school is also one of the largest in the area - highlighting not only its popularity but also confirming that there are plenty of opportunities within. The school are looking for a passionate and confident teacher of History to support the schools ethos of improving achievement for all students. The school values individualism and prides itself on being a supportive centre for learning, rated ofsted 'good.' The History curriculum studied throughout Key Stage 3 and 4 is very varied and diverse; covering a range of eras and events. The GCSE Examinations are under the Edexcel exam board and the progress 8 score for the school in 2017 was +0.24. The school are keen to welcome someone into the department who is willing to celebrate the uniqueness of the pupils and strive to achieve results. The ideal candidate should be

  • Be passionate about history with extensive knowledge
  • Be dedicated to planning and delivering lessons in an innovate and engaging way
  • Achieve results and drive progress among students and within the department
  • Show excellent communication skills in the classroom
  • Have outstanding organisation skills needed to plan, prepare and execute diverse lessons
  • Bring a sense of creativity to the role and also match the school's forward thinking ethos
  • Ensure that the students have an enjoyable learning experience
