Graduate Teaching Assistant - Rochdale - Full Time

Working with a number of schools in the Rochdale area, Teaching Personnel are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants for a variety of roles within the local schools. This is an excellent opportunity for any aspiring teachers and we wish to hear from you if you have recently graduate and are considering applying for your PGCE or similar teacher training programme in the near future.

  • Full time and part time hours available as a Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Get paid weekly, up to £325, dependent on experience and responsibilities
  • Opportunity to work in a variety of schools gaining a wide range of experience
  • Automatically enrolled onto Teaching Personnel's Future Teachers Graduate Programme
  • Gain access to Teaching Personnel's CPD Training Courses and Further Development Training

Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant within schools in Rochdale is an excellent opportunity for any aspiring teachers and is a very rewarding yet challenging role. Each day will deliver different challenges and opportunities of self development as you learn from your peers around you and the guidance of the senior management within the school. Gaining valuable skills and experience you will discover how to effectively support and inspire pupils in a secondary school, whilst not only aiding their development as learners but also as young people. Although every day will be different, some of the responsibilities you can expect to encounter on a day to day basis are:

  • Working within the classroom, supporting the teachers lesson plan and assisting pupils with any questions they have with work and offering guidance within your specialist subject area
  • Ensuring the schools code of conduct is followed and delivering effective behaviour management for pupils within and outside the classroom
  • Working together with the department and supporting the teachers with planning, delivery and marking of classwork and homework in your specialist subject area
  • Supporting pupils with any additional needs they may have, whether these are SEN, behaviour or learning related

You will automatically be enrolled onto Teaching Personnel's Future Teachers Programme while working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant within our client schools in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for any aspiring teachers and is a scheme put in place to address the teacher shortage in England. You will have the opportunity to gain further experience within a secondary school environment through extra training within the school and go into your PGCE or similar teacher training programme in a much better position than your peers, maximizing your chance of achieving the top grades.
