Cover Supervisor - Horwich

Job description

Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Secondary School located in Horwich, Bolton who seek to appoint a number of Cover Supervisors in the new academic year.

Due to an increased number of students joining this large secondary school in September, the Head Teacher now seeks to appoint Cover Supervisors for both flexible and full-time positions.

The role of the cover supervisor will be to provide support in the absence of a teacher and supervise the students within the classroom. Ideally you will have worked in a similar role within a secondary school and have a good understanding of secondary education.

Alternatively, you will be a recent graduate and aspiring teacher wishing to gain secondary school experience ahead of completing a PGCE in the near future.

  • Cover Supervisor: Full-time and flexible work opportunities
  • Location: Accessible via the M61 and located in Horwich
  • Start date: September 2019
  • Pay: £300 - £350 per week

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be the first port of call for absence and sickness in school, covering lessons for teachers and other staff members including senior leaders with teaching timetable. You may be required to cover lessons across the subject range, so flexibility is important and confidence to cover lessons outside your comfort zone. Full support and regular training opportunities are available to the successful Cover supervisor; it is preferred if you have previous experience managing behaviour and classrooms for this role but is by no means essential.

Our client school has a Sixth Form on campus and is larger than the average Secondary school with around 1800 pupils on roll. In their most recent Ofsted inspection the school was rated 'Good' in all areas. The school is located in Bolton and can easily be accessed via the M61 motorway. Public transport links are easily accessible via the surrounding areas of Wigan, Chorley, Preston, Bury and Salford.
