Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Can you engage with children who have challenging behaviour?

Do you want to help children who have struggled in mainstream school get back on the right path?

Have you got good behaviour management techniques and skills?

A school in the Croydon area is looking to take on a learning support assistant who can effectively support primary aged students who have varied Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, including challenging behaviour. You must be up for a challenge, resilient, encouraging and able to deal with verbal and sometimes physical behavioural difficulties from the students.

The role:

  • Full time position to commence after the Easter holidays
  • 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (the students only attend 9am - 14:45pm)
  • £60 - £80 per day, dependent on experience
  • Provide support in the classroom, working with a key stage 2 class on academic subjects as well as social skills and communication
  • Provide effective behaviour management and encourage students to make progress academically as well as socially

You will benefit from excellent team spirit at this school - the staff are great at supporting each other, particularly during times where students are displaying very challenging behaviour.
