The successful Youth Worker will support students in class across the subject areas and deliver targeted interventions to students on a 1:1 basis during lessons and break times. Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons.

The school, which has been recently rated as ‘Good’ by OFSTED, provides these children with a calm and positive environment where the pupils can flourish and succeed. This has been achieved through the hard work of the teachers and their assistants in developing strong relationships with these pupils allowing for a sense of trust which leads to academic achievement.

Having experience in supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have a variety of SEN is not essential but beneficial to fully flourish within this Youth Worker role. However, experience of a Sporting background in coaching or teaching would be desired but not essential

. The school is located in the Horsham area of Sussex so it accessible by car, and would require the successful candidate to drive.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience. Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
