Job description

A school in Stockport is looking for Behaviour Support Assistant to join the support staff team after October Half Term.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • A degree OR specific qualifications related to working with children in a school setting (e.g Level 3 Teaching Assistant)
  • A desire to develop and enhance pupils progress.
  • The ability to deal with potentially challenging situations/scenarios.
  • The ability to inspire students and keep children engaged on set tasks.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be tasked with:

  • Monitoring children with SEN.
  • Delivering interventions when necessary.
  • Working with support staff in identifying pupils who require support due to poor behaviour.
  • Supporting students with a range of SEMH needs.

Therefore, it is essential that the applicant:

  • Is able to quickly develop positive working relationships with students and staff.
  • Is not phased by volatile situations.
  • Can work as part of a strong support team, whose key objectives focus on developing young people’s conduct during school time.
  • Can communicate with teaching staff with regards to pupil development.
