Teaching Personnel is the UK's leading education recruitment agency, we specialise in supplying staff on a permanent and temporary basis to schools in the UK and Wales. We are currently recruiting in Manchester and seek a committed and hard working individual to join us as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant as soon as possible.  The position is full time and permanent, you will join our Manchester Secondary team, working exclusively with schools and Teachers/support staff in the central and wider Manchester area. At the moment we are working from home but can provide full IT equipment to support effective home working. When we return to the office we will do so on a part time basis so there will be a balance between home and office working.

The role of trainee recruitment consultant will involve working as part of a supportive team striving to grow their business and patch. In addition to working for the market leader, you will receive unrivalled daily coaching and on-going support to ensure you are successful. Knowledge of the education sector is desirable, through working in schools or from your studies, however you will be given the tools and training to be a successful recruiter within TP.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant at Teaching Personnel, you are the vital link between primary schools and candidates. You will join a thriving team who work solely with primary schools in the local area, working to KPIs and targets to continue the growth within the branch and Secondary location.

You will:

  • Make a high volume of sales and business development calls to Secondary schools in your area
  • Build and develop your own candidate database by sourcing and recruiting quality support staff and teachers, including newly qualified teachers and teaching assistants and graduate aspiring teachers
  • Conduct meetings to build relationships with key decision makers in schools in order to successfully service your clients
  • Work to KPIs and targets in line with your branch and career ladder to earn individual promotion
  • Support your team and achieve team targets as well as individual accolades

About You

The ideal applicant will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality, tenacity and urgency are extremely important in a fast-paced environment like Education. They will also be resilient and have a passion for education, you will be making a difference and supporting schools with their staffing needs. Teaching Personnel have a specific career path for consultants to progress. We review performance regularly and you may qualify for promotions up to 4 times per year based on performance and future business levels.

Hours of Work

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis (42.5 hours per week, 5 days per week), working to current Government guidelines with office working and working from home – equipment provided to support WFH.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual salary from GBP20,000 per year to reflect skills and experience plus performance-related commission
