EYFS Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Sheffield S10 & Surrounding Areas
Start: Immediate or September | Full-time or part-time | Competitive daily rate
Teaching Personnel – Sheffield South Primary Team

We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced EYFS HLTA to support Early Years Foundation Stage provision in primary schools across the S10 area. The role will involve a combination of group work, interventions, and leading learning under the guidance of the class teacher.

Essential Requirements:

  • HLTA Status or a recognised Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma, BTEC National Diploma in Childcare or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an EYFS setting (Nursery or Reception)

  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and child development

  • Experience in early phonics delivery (e.g., Letters and Sounds or Read Write Inc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver small group and whole class sessions, including phonics and early maths

  • Support learning through play-based approaches in line with EYFS best practice

  • Assist in planning, observing, and recording children’s progress

  • Provide 1:1 support for children with additional needs where required

  • Maintain strong communication with teaching staff and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
