EYFS Teaching Assistant – S18 Area
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Location: S18 (South Sheffield area)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: ASAP/September
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

Overview
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded primary school in the S18 area. The school is seeking a committed and qualified Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to support children in their early stages of education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school with a strong reputation for its nurturing ethos and focus on holistic child development. The school boasts extensive outdoor grounds and places a strong emphasis on building trusting relationships with children, promoting emotional well-being and learning through a restorative, non-punitive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day delivery of the EYFS curriculum
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with children to support their individual needs
  • Encouraging learning through play and exploration
  • Promoting a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation through a nurturing and child-led approach

Essential Requirements

  • A relevant EYFS qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent) – this is a mandatory requirement
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children’s development
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient manner
  • Experience in a school or nursery setting (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
