Job description

Teaching Personnel is working with a partner  school based in Sutton Coldfield, who are looking for Cover Supervisors to join their team in September. They are looking for people who are looking for full time work, and are also looking for people to join their bank of staff of Cover Supervisors for flexible day to day work.

Roles and Responsibilities - 

  • Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences to maintain a productive learning environment

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and resources provided by teaching staff

  • Manage student behavior and ensure classroom discipline according to school policies

  • Support students’ learning by assisting with tasks and answering questions within the scope of cover supervision

  • Monitor and report any issues, concerns, or incidents to the relevant staff members

  • Take registers and maintain accurate attendance records during cover lessons

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under supervision

 

Requirements

  • Degree educated 
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting

  • Good understanding of secondary school curriculum and classroom management

  • Ability to manage student behavior effectively and maintain discipline

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude

  • Ability to follow detailed lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
