Teaching Personnel are seeking a compassionate and committed Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school from September. The school supports pupils aged 4–11 with a range of complex needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory processing challenges. Their staff strive to achieve a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
About the role:
- Start- Date: 1st September
- Ongoing/long-term with opportunity for a permanent contract with the school
- Opportunity to earn £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Class Teacher to ensure individualised support plans are implemented and the correct support is put in place for students with specific needs. This will include 1-1 and small group intervention in core subjects and sensory/creative activities. You will also supervise students during lunchtimes and break times, ensuring the schools behaviour polices are always followed.
What we’re looking for:
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is necessary
- Experience working with SEN is required (in any setting)
- A patient, empathetic and positive approach is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of SEN and behaviour management techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
