TA required in Preston - IMMEDIATE START

Job description

Our client school in Preston have approached us requesting a Teaching Assistant to work with their pupils across KS3-KS4 with SEN.

The school caters for pupils that have an Education, Health & Care Plan to support their social, emotional and mental health needs and offers a broad, balanced and individualised curriculum alongside comprehensive support systems that aim to ensure progress is made and positive outcomes achieved.

The role will be to start from Monday 1st April but the school may make allowances for a start after Easter; Tuesday 23rd April. The role will be for at least a half-term and it is worth noting that the school have taken candidates from Teaching Personnel onto permanent contracts in the past.

You will ideally have experience supporting pupils who can exhibit challenging behaviours and have the ability to build rapprot quickly with harder to reach pupils.

The Head Teacher is interested in candidates who have worked in a PRU / Alternative Provision, those who have worked alongside Young Offenders, Sports Coaches, those who have worked with NEETs, those with an Army background, those who have worked in prisons and MORE! Please note: You don't have to have direct experience in a school, but you MUST have the skillset and knowledge to handle challenging behaviour appropriately and the understanding of pupils who have mental health difficulties. The pupils require nurture, care and guidance from an appropriate mentor / support assistant / role model. You must be 'thick-skinned,' energetic, empathetic and non-judgemental with a can-do attitude.

The working hours will likely be 8:30am - 3:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
