Support Assistant for Severe Learning Difficulties School

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with students in an SEND School in Saltburn. The role will commence in the new academic year on a full time basis.

The role will involve supporting students within the classroom on a 1:1 basis between the ages of 11 and 16 who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. The students need extra support in their school environment and there will be an element of personal care involved within the role, you may also be supporting the students in extra curricular activities for example trips to the community. The school has excellent facilities that support assistants will have access to within the position, including a sensory room. You may be supporting students with difficulties including:

  • Physical impairments
  • Downs Syndrome
  • Speech and language difficulties

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with severe learning difficulties. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people with SEN and have a kind and nurturing personality. We accept candidates from a variety of backgrounds, whether it is from education, youth work or care - this role is ideal for someone in a care background looking to sidestep into education. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
