SEN Teaching Assistant with Autism Experience

Role: 1:1 ASC SEN TA

Hours: Full-Time

Start: September 2019

We have an opportunity for three candidate to work 1:1 with 3 pupils with ASC and Speech/Language needs. The pupils are in Reception, Year 2 and Year 4. The school is located in the Borough of Greenwich. This is a full-time role where you will be working 1:1 with the child ensuring that a good level of care and support is given. You will be working alongside the Class Teacher and SEN Co-ordinator who will offer you continuous support and training opportunities throughout your time at the school.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2:2 degree in a Psychology or any Education related degree
  • Experience working with SEN children is preferred
  • Good knowledge and awareness of UK Education and SEN
  • Experience working with Primary ages although we will consider Secondary trained Teachers or TA's, looking for a change of career path!
  • A clear passion for working with young people with SEN
  • A caring nature and positive influence
  • Phonics Trained

Suitable candidates should live within South East London or within a commutable distance from Greenwich. Have the ability to maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment. You will have the confidence in supporting children on the Autistic spectrum, helping the child to ensure they are engaging with the curriculum. You must be willing to get involved in the wider school activities, trips, productions etc. Although the primary focus will be working with the ASC pupil, you may be asked to give general support to the teacher with the rest of the class.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
