SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary school - Portsmouth

We require SEN experienced staff for live roles in the Gosport area. Our Primary schools have expressed a growing need for staff who are experienced in dealing with SEN children, whether it be professionally or through personal experience. We need support staff to offer class-wide support or perform a 1:1 role with specific pupils, depending on the school’s requirements. Experience in managing small groups of pupils is preferential also.

Specific experience with Behavioural, Physical & Emotional difficulties is sought after, as many of the schools have SEN pupils across a range of disabilities. This promises to be an incredibly rewarding role that would see disadvantaged pupils getting the attention and focus they need.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have SEN experience or be personally familiar with SEN individuals.
  • Be patient & empathetic whilst able to push students to achieve their best.
  • Be an imaginative, problem solver and good communicator.
  • Be ready to make a profound difference in pupil’s education.
  • Be able to lead as well as be a team player.

The benefits of the role include:

  • Excellent chance to build a relationship and career with ‘outstanding’ Hampshire schools.
  • Unrivalled access to Primary schools in the Greater Portsmouth area.
  • Dedicated personal consultant.
  • Pension scheme & competitive pay
  • Fantastic experience for a graduate working towards their PGCE.
