SEN Teaching Assistant

A cluster of 3-16 schools are looking for new learning support assistants to join their new ALN divisions launching in January. The schools are based in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area and as there are multiple roles the schools are looking to fill, they have requested that we short list candidates for their individual site based on their specific criteria.

The schools boast new state of the art sports facilities, recording studios, gourmet cafes, and ICT equipment and now the ALN and nurture provisions have been restructured to allow school staff to make the best possible difference in a child’s learning

The January roles will be based in a variety of areas throughout the school. The Behaviour and Special Needs Co-Ordinators want to meet with successful applicants before the Christmas break, so make sure you call or email as soon as possible!

The Inclusion zone – designed to help pupils reflect on their behaviour and implement strategies to avoid exclusion

Interventions – Those with subject specialisms will be able to write and lead their own curriculum to support low ability pupils. These can feel like one to one tuition sessions as well as booster classes to small groups. English, maths and humanities graduates have worked well in similar environments in the past

One to One Support – Being assigned to a statemented pupil who will have additional learning needs. The schools currently supports pupils with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, visual and hearing impairment, as well as kids facing emotional challenges.

Looked After Child Support – Working in a one to one capacity with children in the foster care system. Consistency, understanding and patience are essential in order to

As there are an additional two statements per school, we are looking for six teaching assistants. Two of the positions will be on a part time basis. Historically, the schools have been keen to offer permanent contracts to the candidates we have introduced to them, they are keen to repeat this and ensure you have the same training and advantages as a permanent member of staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
